Lechem Foundation

Bread for Today.

Hope for Tomorrow.

The Lechem Foundation impacts communities in partnership with soup kitchens and community partners in and beyond Windhoek. Our purpose is to alleviate hunger and uplift livelihoods through whole-person, sustainable support.

Our Vision: Impacting Communities

Alleviate Hunger

We support and supply soup kitchens that provide meals to the elderly and vulnerable children, addressing immediate nutritional needs with dignity and care.

Uplift Livelihoods

We better the lives and livelihoods of people and communities by offering or facilitating training programmes that develop employability skills, personal and spiritual growth and social responsibility.

Whole-person Care

We nurture the spiritual well-being of individuals and communities by equipping community leaders, and the staff and volunteers of soup kitchens with the knowledge and skills to share and exemplify the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Sustainable support

We promote long-term sustainability by developing agricultural and other self-sustaining community programs, fostering community ownership and engagement in all projects.

The Big Picture: Our Comprehensive Approach

Food Production

Producing fresh, nourishing foods through sustainable agricultural practices and community gardens.

Training

Equipping leaders, volunteers, and youth to care for themselves while making a lasting difference in the lives of others.

Distribution

Collecting and distributing food with integrity and the highest hygiene standards through our distribution centre.

Our integrated model ensures sustainable impact by addressing both immediate needs and long-term community development through a holistic three-pillar approach.

Skills Training

Providing agricultural and life skills training that empowers communities to grow their own food and develop sustainable livelihoods.

Partnership Opportunities exist for teams to roll up their sleeves and work in the garden, and for companies to become involved in training programs that build lasting capacity.

Soup Kitchens: Nourishing Communities

Our aim is to equip and support soup kitchens that nourish orphaned and vulnerable children, both physically and spiritually. We serve as the backbone that enables local community leaders to make lasting impact.
