Garden and soup kitchen visit — Ngaturi Tumbe Hope Centre, Nau-Aib, Okahandja

Saturday, 15 August 2026 · 09:00 - 14:00

This is a longer day and it is two things in one. We travel to Okahandja and spend the morning in the Lechem garden — planting, weeding, watering and harvesting, depending on the season — and then serve a hot meal at Ngaturi Tumbe Hope Centre alongside the kitchen's own volunteers.

You do not need any gardening experience. Bring a hat and sunblock as well, since a good part of the day is outdoors.

Getting there

We travel together. Everyone meets at 100 Tunschel Street, Pioneers Park, Windhoek and we go in one vehicle to Okahandja. Please be there by 08:30 — the vehicle cannot wait. Expect to be back in Windhoek in the late afternoon.

What to bring

Comfortable clothing and closed shoes you do not mind getting dirty, a hat and sunblock, and enough water for the whole day. Please leave valuables at home.

Under 18?
